Our parting shot of the Cypress Inn is from inside. The markers on the tree show flood stage depths and the month/year. And there's the floating dock I stood on to take the other pics. Boaters actually pull up and use this dock, especially during football season. They dock their large boats across the river and use their ski boats or tenders to come over and eat at Cypress Inn.

Saw this on the portal and just knew it was the Cypress Inn. I have had some great meals there. Catfish is outstanding as I recall!

Must be mighty good food. Looking at those markers, it appears the Cypress Inn or whatever was there before has been way under water a few times! Yikes!
Scary, isn't it? The river near where my boyfriend lives (he's about 1/2 uphill from it) flooded BAD twice last year! It was horrible.
Cypress Inn is really a lovely spot! You must have had a good time here, I wonder what kind of food you had...
Virginia - yes, catfish is one of their specialities.
Jacob - I believe the restaurant is celebrating its 25th year this year.
Gena - we have a system of locks and dams that keep things in the banks MOST of the time.
Valeria, I always have the same thing. Fried green tomatoes, catfish, country club squash and either cheese grits or the veggie of the day. It is wonderful.
