Then and Now

An old postcard image of the First National Bank on Broad Street (now Univ. Blvd.)
I believe the upper floors were apartments that faced 23rd ave.
Here's what it looks like today. It's DePalma's Restaurant. In the years between the bank and the restaurant, it was Adrians, which was a great women's clothing store.

What a great looking old building! Interesting how time has changed it, but the core still stands.

Wow! It has hardly changed at all. I'm glad it's still in use at least and hasn't been torn down.

It does make me wonder how, when and why the balconies are gone.

Glad it is still in use. Nice looking building.

It really hasn't changed all that much; mostly cosmetic. I think I like the old building better, though - had more "character."

I didn't know that Adrian's used to be a bank! Anyway, we loved to shop at Adrian's.

I stumbled upon your site while researching the history of the DePalma's building, for a class project at UA. Your depth of knowledge is amazing; how have you been able to find out so much about this, and other historic buildings?
