Purple Martin Gourds

Dried gourds have been used as natural birdhouses for centuries.
These were hanging in the middle of a big garden spot.

I have saved some "birdhourse" gourds from gardening years past for that reason...and then realized I don't have the right tools to drill a hole in them for the birds. They're decorations for now.
