Tractor Parade

Okay, maybe it's not a parade. Maybe it's a tractor graveyard.
:moment of silence:
These rusty lovelies are parked near the county shop. I assume they were once used to maintain the right-of-way. (Please click to enlarge that first one)
Here's a little closer crop. I love those old metal seats. Bet they were a HOT seat during the blistering summer.

I've driven a few of these old beauties - in the olden days of my youth! And yes, those seats were hot and not very comfortable after a while.

Fortunately, I was playing rather than working, so I didn't have to make a living up on that metal seat.

Very interesting photos. Some of those tractors look to be of an ancient vintage.

Must have been hot and uncomfortable but, somewhere, there is a mule smiling with his hooves up.

Now this is strange. It doesn't look like a junk shop. Maybe someone's actually collecting them?

I agree with you about the seat! I wouldn't mind having some for stools ;)

This are the kinds of things that sit in the landscape so long, they look like they're supposed to be there.

Jacob - I know, I need to let my husband or dad see them to identify the vintage.
B-Squared - I laughed out loud!
Hilda - I'm thinking they've been 'put out to pasture'
Boise Diva - I agree. Looks like they even keep the grass trimmed AROUND these guys.

It does look like a parade. Someone clearly loves old tractors.

What an interesting chorus line of antiques. Nice find and photo.

Joan - thanks for dropping by!
Gogouci - Thanks! the funny thing is, I pass this little scene every day on my way home from work. I just HAPPENED to glance over and notice them Friday. Then of course I had to swerve into a driveway and go back to capture them.

If they belong to the county, then I bet they could sell them! There is a place along the highway not far from here that continually has out a few old tractors for sale. And they change, so someone does buy them.

What a find! These sure need to be at an outdoor museum.

Reminded me of Disney's elephants on parade -- I esp. like them against the backdrop of missing panels or plaster of the white wall. Can you picture a cartoon with all of these moving? I can.
(PS - I wonder if those ventilation holes on the seats worked!)
