Thanks for this, I'm not that familiar with killdeer and I think it answers my question about a bird sighting I made a few years ago. It must have been a killdeer.
Also, if I haven't told you already, I love your icon. It's quite beautiful.

PJ -thanks! I had to look this up to be sure. I was calling it a kiwi, but somehow knew that wasn't right. Thanks for the icon compliment too. It's an old Tuscaloosa postcard - what else? would it be! ha :)
Gena - they were VERY cute. I wish the quality was better, but this was the best I could do from far away. I was trying hard not to scare them off.
Birds are so cool!
They just don't come any cuter than baby killdeer!
I have never seen birds like that before, I love there markings. Wonderful photo.
